Your Southland account is passwordless. The vouched Discord identity linked during registration is the proof behind login and account recovery; Southland does not keep a separate game password or offer a password reset.

Recognized and unrecognized logins

A recognized login setup can continue to character selection without another code. Recognition lasts for 30 days after successful use, and using it successfully renews that convenience window.

An unrecognized setup opens login verification:

  1. Keep the in-game verification prompt open.
  2. Check the direct messages of the Discord account linked to Southland.
  3. Enter the one-time login code in the game.
  4. If the DM is missing, use the Discord /code command in the Southland server and enter the newest code it returns.

The /code fallback updates the pending login code, so an older DM code will no longer work afterward. Reconnecting while a verification is pending returns to the same verification flow. Codes are private: do not post or send one to another person.

You may be asked to verify again when recognition has expired, after remembered logins were cleared, or after account recovery. This is expected and does not mean the account has gained a password.

Clear remembered logins

Use /forgetdevices after entering a character when you want every remembered login cleared. It affects all previously recognized setups, including the one used for the current connection.

The command does not disconnect the current game session. Its consequence starts at the next login: every setup must complete Discord verification again, and each successful verification can then become recognized anew.

Clearing remembered logins is useful after using a computer or setup you no longer trust. It does not change the Discord account linked to Southland.

Recover or replace the linked Discord account

First use Discord’s own recovery process if the linked Discord account is compromised or inaccessible. Southland cannot reset Discord credentials.

If you still control the old linked Discord account and want to move the game account to a replacement:

  1. Make sure the replacement Discord member is vouched and is not already linked to another Southland account.
  2. Contact Southland Management privately in the Southland Discord and explain that you need Discord-link recovery.
  3. Management starts the checked recovery. Each member receives a separate private Discord confirmation and must confirm their own side. If direct messages are closed, ask Management for the private command fallback instead of sharing recovery details publicly.
  4. Management completes the relink after the required confirmations.
  5. Reconnect using the same game account username and verify through the replacement Discord identity.

Completion clears previous trusted logins and pending codes and closes any live game session for that account. Recovery does not bypass the Vouched role and does not change the account’s game staff level.

If the old Discord account is completely unavailable, the current launch policy does not allow Management to bypass its confirmation. Recover access through Discord first and then request the normal relink. Creating a replacement Discord account alone is not proof of ownership.

Understand vouch and session changes

Your linked Discord identity must remain vouched for new authentication.

  • Losing the vouch blocks the next login, but vouch removal alone does not automatically end a game session already in progress.
  • Leaving the Discord server or having the Vouched role removed can remove that authorization.
  • A completed account recovery closes the affected live session.
  • A reduction in Discord staff authority can also close a live authenticated session so old staff access is not retained.

If a session is closed for a security reset, reconnect and follow the verification prompt. If the account is no longer vouched, obtain a valid vouch before retrying.

What Management can do

Management can review redacted account-security status, clear remembered logins and pending challenges, close affected sessions, and run the confirmed Discord-link recovery process. A Discord-link recovery must be handled privately in the Southland Discord; in-game help is not a recovery route for someone who cannot authenticate.

Staff cannot:

  • reveal or retrieve an old login code;
  • create or reset a Southland password, because no game password exists;
  • recover the Discord account itself;
  • bypass the active-vouch requirement;
  • skip the normal old-and-new Discord confirmations under current launch policy; or
  • turn a new, unlinked Discord identity into proof of account ownership by itself.

If you are already in game and need a general security question, use /help to choose the current support route. Account recovery itself belongs in a private Discord conversation with Management. Do not put login codes or account-sensitive evidence in a public channel or player report.

Troubleshoot login verification

No Discord DM arrived: Confirm you are checking the Discord identity linked to the game account, then use /code in the Southland Discord. Enter only the newest code shown.

Discord says there is no pending code: Connect to the game with the account username first and wait for the verification prompt before using /code.

A code is rejected: Make sure it is the newest code and belongs to the currently pending login. Reconnect if the game prompt was closed or timed out; do not keep guessing old codes.

A previously recognized setup asks for a code: Its convenience window may have expired, or remembered logins may have been cleared by you, recovery, or a security reset. Complete Discord verification again.

Login verification is temporarily unavailable: The server could not complete the check and disconnected you. Nothing about the account, its vouch, or its remembered logins changed. Wait a moment, reconnect, and verify again; if it keeps happening, report it privately rather than requesting more codes.

The game says the account is no longer vouched: Restore a valid vouch in the Southland Discord. A login code cannot bypass this check.

The account is already connected: Close the other game connection before trying again. If you do not recognize that session, secure the linked Discord account and contact support privately.

A recovery confirmation DM did not arrive: Keep the request private and ask Management for the checked command fallback. Do not ask another member to confirm for you or post the request details publicly.
