Informant agreements are voluntary and private to the participating character and the authorized operation team. Legal gun shops are open for business, though not every reviewed location is available at launch. This guide remains a draft until the full multi-player agreement, controlled purchase, evidence handoff, reimbursement, reconnect, and restart flow is verified.
Decide whether to participate
An offer explains the agreement before you accept it. Accepting does not make you a faction member, place you on duty, grant immunity, or guarantee a reward.
You may decline the offer or leave an accepted agreement at any time. Use the withdrawal action under /informant from anywhere; you do not have to provide a reason. Withdrawal stops new tasking but does not erase reports, completed work, or reimbursement already owed for a settled authorized purchase.
Review and report assigned work
Use the status and task views under /informant to review your current agreement, assigned objectives, deadlines, and any exact product named for a controlled purchase. Only act on a task shown for the current character.
Use the report action for the relevant task when you need to submit an observation. Reports are private and persistent. Reopen the task list after reconnecting or after the operation team changes a task rather than relying on an old task number.
Start a controlled legal purchase
A controlled purchase must be deliberately started from its assigned task. An ordinary legal-store purchase is not later converted into informant work.
Before starting, confirm that:
- the task is still open and names the intended legal-store product;
- the current character has the required weapon licence;
- you are inside an available legal gun shop;
- you have enough carried cash and item capacity; and
- any ammunition requirement and ordinary purchase limit is satisfied.
- Use the purchase action under
/informantfor the current task while inside the shop. - Review the product and price in the confirmation dialog.
- Cancel if either detail is not what you expected.
- Confirm once and wait for the final result.
- Keep the delivered item separate and follow the handler’s in-character evidence handoff.
The purchase uses the ordinary legal-store rules. You pay first from carried cash. Reimbursement becomes possible only for that exact delivered item after it is booked into the owning organization’s evidence locker and the task is independently confirmed.
Understand reimbursement and custody
Reimbursement returns the proven purchase price to the informant character’s bank account. It is separate from any discretionary task reward. You do not choose the reimbursement amount, substitute another purchase, or receive it as cash.
Once the exact exhibit is booked for an outstanding reimbursement, it remains in evidence custody until the reimbursement completes. Operation closure or withdrawal does not cancel a purchase that already settled, but a quarantined or contradictory record remains unpaid until authorized staff resolve it.
Recover safely
- The task or purchase action is refused: reopen your task list and check the licence, shop, cash, capacity, and product prerequisites. Do not use ordinary
/buygunas a substitute. - You cancelled before confirmation: no controlled sale was claimed; restart from the current task when ready.
- The result is unclear after confirmation or reconnect: compare your cash and inventory, then reopen the task list. Do not immediately repeat the purchase.
- The exact item was delivered: keep that item available for the agreed evidence handoff. Do not replace it with another item of the same type.
- The item is booked but payment is pending: leave it in evidence custody and ask the operation team to review the task. Releasing or swapping it is not a recovery step.
- You want to stop participating: withdraw through
/informant. Any already settled purchase remains eligible for its exact reimbursement.
Operational approval, surveillance methods, staff recovery tools, and private evidence details are intentionally omitted.
