Service duty is a temporary organization state with a temporary uniform. Your membership and rank decide which uniforms are available, while the armory provides the physical entry location. The saved civilian outfit remains unchanged and returns when duty ends.

This guide remains a draft until the real-client walkthrough is complete. Armory issue/return, paid restocking, vest wear/removal and damage, rack custody, uniform selection and expiry, reconnecting and restarting while on duty, waking at the hospital with equipment still issued, and two members sharing one armory and one rack now have automated coverage.

Prepare to enter duty

Before entering:

  1. Confirm the current character is a member of the intended service faction.
  2. Review /ranks if the duty or uniform permission is uncertain.
  3. Go on foot to an active armory owned by that faction.
  4. Finish any civilian outfit preview and make sure the character is not incapacitated or restrained.
  5. Return outstanding state for staff review if the server reports that an earlier duty session is unresolved.

An armory belonging to another organization cannot start this faction’s duty state. Vehicle turnout can change an existing duty uniform, but it never starts duty remotely.

Select a uniform

Use /uniform at the owning armory to view the service uniforms currently allowed by the character’s rank capabilities. While already on duty, you may instead stand at the open rear of an eligible organization-owned service vehicle that you can access. Ambulances and Fire Trucks provide Fire/EMS turnout; reviewed law fleet models provide law turnout. The list does not filter by the character’s sex, race, account, or civilian wardrobe.

Choose the intended row and wait for confirmation. The preference belongs to this exact organization membership:

  • while off duty, it becomes the preferred uniform for the next entry;
  • while already on duty, it changes the current temporary service appearance; and
  • if a saved preference is no longer authorized, duty entry uses the first ordinary eligible uniform instead of granting the restricted one.

Reopen /uniform after moving, closing or changing the vehicle, changing membership or rank, reconnecting, or receiving an expired-selection message. An old dialog never carries authority into a changed organization or vehicle context.

Enter and leave duty

Use /duty at the owning armory after preparing. Successful entry creates the temporary duty state and applies the selected uniform. It does not heal the character, add armour, issue weapons, refill ammunition, or move equipment.

Use /duty again to leave from anywhere. Safe exit remains available even if the rank loses its entry permission after duty began. Disconnecting, leaving the membership, or recovering at the hospital also ends duty and restores the persisted civilian skin.

Leaving duty changes appearance and authority only. It does not teleport, delete, or silently return physical organization equipment.

While a duty uniform is active, civilian outfit purchase, preview, and wear actions refuse rather than hiding or overwriting that appearance.

Issue and return equipment

After entering duty, use /armory stock at the same organization’s armory. The list separates stock at your current armory from the organization’s wider active, issued, lost, and quarantined totals. Issue references belong to that exact list and armory. Reopen the list after moving or changing organization context.

Use /armory issue with a listed stock reference. Your rank must hold the capability for that row, and ammunition cannot exceed its per-duty-session allowance. A successful issue moves a real organization-owned item or ammunition lot into your inventory. It does not make the item personal property.

Issued ammunition can load only into an active weapon belonging to the same organization while that weapon is assigned to you and you remain on duty. Unloading returns the rounds to an organization-owned ammunition lot in your inventory; it never converts them into personal ammunition. Recheck both /weapon and /inventory after either action.

A member with duty.stock may restock from the same stock list. The list shows the unit price and the command help provides the current syntax. A successful restock debits the organization bank, not the member, and places the new stock at the current armory. Unique equipment must be bought one at a time; consumable quantities must stay within the configured organization maximum. A refused purchase due to funds, quantity, cap, stale context, or another pending operation takes no payment. If item creation fails after payment, the command reports a refund only after the server confirms that the money returned; uncertain results are held for staff instead of claiming stock or reimbursement.

Return equipment physically at any active armory owned by the same organization:

  1. Use /armory return to list returnable items you currently hold.
  2. Package a carried weapon with /weapon pack before trying to return it.
  3. Return one listed item, or use the all action for separate checked returns.
  4. Read the final count. An unresolved item remains in your custody and must be handled separately.

Leaving duty away from an armory packages assigned weapons where it can do so safely and marks outstanding unique equipment as return due. It does not move or delete anything. You may return it while off duty, and a former member who still physically holds organization equipment may also use the return path at an owning armory.

Use a vehicle equipment rack

While on duty with rack permission, stand on foot at the open rear of an eligible vehicle owned by the same organization. The vehicle must be unlocked, in the same world and interior, and free of another service operation.

  • Use /rack list to build references for organization equipment currently in the rack.
  • Use /rack take to issue a listed item or permitted ammunition quantity. Issue capabilities and per-duty-session limits still apply.
  • Use /rack return to list and physically return assigned equipment. Each all return is checked separately and reports unresolved items.
  • A stock manager may switch the engine off beside an owning armory, use /rack stock to list local armory assets, and move one listed row into the vehicle. /rack unstock returns a listed rack row to that exact armory.

Rack equipment and personal trunk contents occupy the same vehicle storage capacity, but /rack and ordinary storage intentionally show separate filtered references. Parking, restarting, or entering destruction recovery does not move rack custody. A vehicle cannot be retired while any item remains in its holder.

The physical taser, medical bag, and extinguisher must remain assigned and in the duty member’s custody for their owning law, medical, or fire action. Losing duty, capability, assignment, or custody prevents the next use without deleting the tool.

Wear and remove a duty vest

After issuing a patrol or tactical vest, use /inventory to find its current item reference and /vest <item-ref> to wear it. You must still be on duty, authorized for that exact vest, healthy, controllable, and physically holding the assigned item. The inventory label shows its remaining protection.

Use /vest off to remove it. Leaving duty, becoming incapacitated, or reconnecting also removes authoritative armour safely. Damage permanently lowers the physical vest’s remaining whole protection points; fractional torso armour damage consumes the next whole point. Returning the vest does not repair it.

A worn vest cannot be given, dropped, stored, returned, written off, or moved into staff custody. Remove it first, then use the ordinary checked action.

Dropping issued equipment does not remove accountability. Authorized stock managers can record a reasoned write-off, but the physical item remains traceable and may later be recovered.

Recover from a refusal

  • No owning armory is found: confirm the organization and use its active armory rather than another service’s location.
  • The rank is not eligible: review /ranks and ask organization leadership to correct capability policy; repeatedly opening the command will not bypass it.
  • The character is not in a safe state: leave the vehicle, finish outfit preview, and resolve restraint or incapacitation before retrying.
  • The uniform list expired: remain at the same armory and reopen /uniform.
  • An issue reference is refused: reopen /armory stock at the current armory. Check duty state, rank capability, local quantity, carry space, and the per-session allowance.
  • A restock is refused without payment: reopen /armory stock, check the displayed unit price and current totals, confirm duty.stock, and ask leadership to verify organization funds. Do not substitute personal payment.
  • A restock is refunded or held for review: preserve the exact message. A refund is reported only after the server confirms the money returned; a held result requires staff review before retrying that stock row.
  • A load or unload is refused: confirm the weapon and ammunition came from the same organization, the weapon is assigned to you, you are still on duty, the calibre matches, and the weapon or inventory has room.
  • A vest is refused: confirm the reference came from your current inventory, the vest is assigned to you, you are on duty with its capability, your character is healthy and controllable, and no other vest is worn.
  • A return is refused: reopen /armory return, package any carried weapon or use /vest off, and return each unresolved item separately.
  • A rack action is refused: reopen the appropriate rack list at the same open rear. Check organization ownership, duty and rack capability, vehicle profile, shared trunk room, service-busy state, and the exact armory for stock management.
  • Duty state is unresolved: do not repeatedly toggle. Preserve the refusal and ask staff to inspect the retained session evidence.
  • The civilian outfit does not return: avoid buying or wearing another outfit as compensation; reconnect once and report the exact transition that failed.
