Furniture consists of persistent item entities that can be placed inside properties. The /furniture interface handles the current catalogue, purchases, placed pieces, and carried furniture without requiring players to copy model numbers or prices from a guide.

Check that you can furnish the property

Furniture management is available while inside a property for which your current character has a property key. Owners, tenants, and deliberately shared keyholders can therefore arrange placed pieces.

Before buying or editing:

  • confirm the correct property access in /keys;
  • check bank funds with /balance;
  • finish or cancel another object edit first; and
  • remember that giving someone a property key also gives them meaningful furnishing access.

Catalogue contents, prices, and available placement room come from the current interface and can change independently of this guide.

Buy and place a new piece

  1. Enter the property and open /furniture.
  2. Browse the current categories and pages.
  3. Select the intended piece only after reviewing its displayed name and bank price.
  4. The purchase creates the piece in the property and opens the object editor.
  5. Position and rotate it with the editor, then save the placement.
  6. Reopen the placed-piece list to confirm the final result.

Selecting the piece authorizes the bank-funded purchase; there is no separate player-to-player offer. Cancelling the initial placement removes that new piece and requests a full refund. Wait for the final message, then compare the bank balance and placed-piece list before trying to buy it again.

Finish or cancel every edit deliberately. Do not disconnect as a substitute for cancelling a purchase or move.

Move an existing piece

Open the placed-piece list through /furniture, choose the intended entry, and select its move option. Saving records the new position. Cancelling an ordinary move restores the last saved placement, and an invalid move is refused rather than silently becoming the new durable position.

If the object snaps back or the edit ends unexpectedly, reopen the list and begin a fresh move from the saved state. Other authorized builders may have changed the property while you were editing, so rely on the current list rather than an old selection.

Pick up and carry furniture

Picking up a placed piece removes its placement and transfers the furniture item to the character’s carried inventory. This lets eligible furniture move between properties instead of being destroyed and repurchased.

Pickup requires both property access and authority over that piece: the recorded piece owner or the property owner can take it into carried custody. The character also needs enough carrying room.

Use /inventory to confirm a successful pickup. A carried furniture item is no longer displayed as a placed property object.

Place a carried piece

  1. Enter a property where the current character has a key.
  2. Open /furniture and choose the carried-piece placement flow.
  3. Select the furniture item from the current carried list.
  4. Position it with the editor and save.
  5. Reopen the placed list to verify that custody moved into the intended property.

Cancelling or failing this placement leaves the item carried instead of deleting it. Check /inventory before retrying.

Sell a furniture piece

The recorded piece owner or the property owner can sell an eligible placed piece from its management menu. The current interface shows the refund based on that piece’s captured purchase record.

Selling is immediate after the menu choice rather than a separate confirmation offer. On success, the piece is permanently removed and the refund enters the acting character’s bank. If removal fails, the payout is described as reversed only after that exact inverse is proved; an ambiguous result is held for staff review. Review the selected entry and displayed refund carefully before choosing the sale action.

Understand persistence and interruptions

Placed furniture and carried furniture are persistent. Their durable custody matters more than whether an object is currently streamed on screen.

  • Disconnecting during the initial placement of a paid piece can leave its durable default placement in the property rather than refunding it. Reconnect and inspect the placed list before buying again.
  • Cancelling carried-piece placement leaves the item carried.
  • If an ordinary move is interrupted, reopen the current placed list and inspect the saved position instead of assuming the last preview was stored.
  • After a restart, use the current placed or carried lists to confirm state rather than relying on where an object was last visible.

Clear furniture before selling property

A property cannot be sold while furniture remains in its custody. Before selling the property, every placed piece must be sold or picked up by an eligible character.

  1. Open the placed-piece list. A heavily furnished property can hold more pieces than the list shows at once, so reopen it after each removal until it comes back empty.
  2. Sell pieces that should be removed permanently.
  3. Pick up pieces that should be retained, making carrying room first.
  4. Confirm the carried result in /inventory and reopen the placed list.
  5. Attempt the property sale only after no property-held furniture remains.

Loose world drops are separate from furniture held by the property. Collect them before relinquishing access if you want to keep them.

Recover from common failures

  • The menu is unavailable: confirm you are inside a property and that this character has a property key.
  • A purchase is refused: recheck bank funds, current catalogue availability, property room, and whether another operation is still resolving.
  • A purchase result is unclear: inspect the bank and placed list before selecting the same piece again.
  • A piece is missing from the placed list: the list shows a limited number of pieces at a time. Remove some of the pieces it does show, then reopen it; the remaining ones appear.
  • A move snaps back: the new placement was not accepted; reopen the saved piece and start a fresh move.
  • Pickup is refused: make carrying room and confirm that this character is the piece owner or property owner.
  • Carried placement closes: check /inventory; the piece should remain carried unless a final success moved it into the property.
  • A sale is refused or unclear: check whether another authorized builder changed the piece and compare the placed list with the bank before retrying.
  • Property sale reports belongings remain: reopen the furniture lists and clear every piece still in property custody.
