An active impound record blocks normal retrieval of a persistent owned vehicle. The custody transition and release workflow still require real-client launch verification, so this guide remains a draft. Expiry does not automatically release or spawn a vehicle.

Go to the holding depot

Release actions work at the active depot holding the vehicle. Follow current official information to the correct depot and stand at its local /unimpound marker. Inactive or deleted depots have no marker and accept no owner release action; existing custody remains durable while a depot is inactive.

Use the list action under /unimpound to review the current character’s active holds at that depot, including holds that may not yet be eligible for release. Match the displayed plate and fee carefully. List references are temporary interaction choices, not permanent vehicle identifiers; reopen the list after a refusal or other change.

Prepare for release

Before confirming a release:

  • wait until the hold is eligible to end;
  • hold a currently valid driving licence;
  • make sure the owner’s bank can cover the displayed fee;
  • use a fresh entry from the current depot list; and
  • check that the depot release area is clear.

The fee captured for the hold is authoritative. This guide does not reproduce fee schedules, hold lengths, or mutable depot details.

Pay and release

  1. Open a fresh held-vehicle list at the correct depot.
  2. Select the intended plate and review its displayed fee.
  3. Use the release action under /unimpound with the current reference.
  4. Confirm once and wait for the final result.
  5. On success, check the bank and owned-vehicle list.
  6. Retrieve the now-parked vehicle through the normal /v flow.

A successful release charges the bank once, closes the active hold, and records the vehicle at the depot release point for normal retrieval. It does not hand the player an unrelated temporary vehicle.

Recover from a refusal or unclear result

  • The vehicle is not listed: confirm the correct depot and current character, then reopen the list rather than reusing an old reference.
  • Release is still unavailable: the current response may not show the remaining hold time. Follow official hold information and try again later from a fresh list; expiry still requires a release action.
  • The release point is blocked: clear the area and retry from a fresh list. A blocked pre-payment check should not be treated as a completed release.
  • The bank cannot cover the fee: prepare the required bank funds before reopening the release flow.
  • The driving licence is refused: check the current status with /licenses; suspended, revoked, or absent status cannot release a vehicle to the road.
  • Payment or release is unclear: do not submit another payment immediately. Compare the bank balance and /v list and retain the exact result message for player support if they disagree.
  • Release succeeded but the vehicle is not out: it returns to normal parked ownership state; use the ordinary retrieval action.

What this does not cover

Impound is durable custody, not a public physical tow-truck activity. There is no player towing career, rope or trailer attachment flow, automated citywide towing service, or customer-operated impound company in this guide. Enforcement and staff correction procedures are also outside player documentation.
