Police contact can move through roleplay, restraint, a search, durable charge records, arrest, and a corrections sentence. This guide remains a draft because the arrest and restraint toolkit’s behaviour under concurrent action and reconnection is still being verified. It explains only the public-facing core and does not publish officer tactics, authorization details, evidence internals, or enforcement thresholds.

Keep the interaction understandable

Respond to instructions your character can reasonably perceive and distinguish spoken roleplay from an explicit game prompt. Restraint temporarily limits movement and several ordinary actions; do not use unrelated commands or reconnecting as a way to erase the scene.

A mechanical state does not decide every roleplay dispute by itself. Preserve the current messages and continue the scene unless a genuine technical fault prevents progress.

Respond to a frisk request

An unrestrained character may receive a specific search request from a nearby officer.

  1. Read which officer requested the frisk.
  2. Use /friskapprove only for that current request if consenting.
  3. Remain nearby while it resolves.
  4. If declining, do not issue approval; allow the request to end.

A restrained character can be searched without the same voluntary approval step. A successful frisk displays held possessions through the law toolkit; it is not a transfer of those items and does not by itself create a conviction.

If distance, restraint, connection, or request state changes, ask for a fresh request rather than approving a stale one.

Review active charges

Use /charges to review the current character’s active criminal charge records. Charges are durable law records and can represent separate incidents.

A charge is not a fine. It is not paid through /payfine, and paying an unrelated fine does not erase it. Officer-side creation and voiding procedures are outside this all-player guide.

Understand arrest and corrections

An arrest is intended to resolve the included active charges and begin a corrections sentence. After intake, use /ptime to review the current sentence balance.

Sentence time is intended to advance only while connected on the sentenced character. Disconnecting or switching characters pauses it, and returning to that character restores an active sentence.

Use /releaseme only after the sentence reaches completion. A completed sentence stays awaiting release, including across a reconnect, until the command is used. If release is refused anyway, do not repeatedly submit the command; preserve /ptime and the release result for support.

Recover from an unclear law state

  • A frisk request is stale: remain with the officer and create a fresh request rather than reusing an old approval.
  • Restraint or detention looks inconsistent: continue the scene if possible and preserve the exact state before asking for help.
  • A charge appears incorrect: review /charges once and retain the displayed record for the appropriate in-character or support route.
  • Arrest does not move into corrections: stop repeated arrest attempts and preserve the current restraint, charge, and sentence results.
  • Sentence time appears wrong: check /ptime on the sentenced character and avoid switching characters while expecting time to advance.
  • Time is complete but release fails: do not spam /releaseme; keep the result and use player support.
