LSPD and LSFD use a private written application before a character can join. The Discord bot owns the application and review conversation; the game owns the final character membership. Other factions continue to use their ordinary invitation process.
This guide remains a draft until the Discord and two-client acceptance walkthrough is complete.
Before applying
You need one linked Southland account with current community access and an active character that does not already belong to a faction. Choose the character and service carefully: an application stays attached to that exact account, character, and service.
An account can normally pursue only one recent LSPD-or-LSFD path at a time. A recently closed application or ended service membership may require a 14-day wait. Staff cannot use the application to remove another membership or silently move the application to another character.
Application answers and review history are private to you and authorized reviewers, but they are retained permanently. Submit text only. Do not include your real name, address, employer, school, phone number, medical information, or other unnecessary personal details.
Submit the private form
- In the Southland Discord server, open the bot’s faction application action.
- Select LSPD or LSFD and one of your eligible characters.
- Review the displayed service, character, privacy notice, and four fixed prompts.
- Confirm the notice and complete every answer in the private form.
- Wait for the bot to confirm a new
FA-reference. - Keep that reference for private status and support recovery.
The intake may be closed to new forms. Closing intake does not cancel an application already under review or an approval waiting to be claimed.
If the form expires or Discord reports an interaction failure before submission is confirmed, start a fresh form. Do not assume a visible Discord modal means the database accepted it; use the private status action to confirm.
Track or withdraw the application
Use the bot’s private faction status action to see the authoritative state, current deadline, reviewer feedback intended for you, and the next ordinary application date. Internal reviewer notes are not shown.
You may withdraw an application while it is submitted, awaiting requested changes, or approved but not yet claimed. Withdrawal is permanent and starts the ordinary 14-day wait. It does not end a membership that has already been claimed.
If direct messages fail, the committed application remains unchanged. Use private status rather than relying on a notification message.
Respond to requested changes
A reviewer may ask for a complete revision and provide an applicant-facing reason.
- Open the bot’s revision action for the exact
FA-reference. - Replace all four answers, not only the answer mentioned in feedback.
- Submit before the displayed deadline.
- Reopen private status and confirm that the application returned to submitted.
The initial form can be followed by at most two requested revisions. Previous versions remain part of the private review history. Missing the revision deadline expires the application and starts the ordinary wait.
Claim an approval in game
Approval does not immediately create a faction membership. Enter the exact approved character and use /factionclaim before the displayed UTC deadline.
A successful claim creates one entry-rank membership in the approved service. It does not put the character on duty or grant a uniform, equipment, vehicle, money, or progression. Follow the ordinary faction and duty guides after membership appears.
If the claim is refused, check private status first. Changed community access, character ownership, another faction membership, an expired approval, changed service data, or uncertain evidence can all make the safe result a refusal. Do not repeat the command rapidly. Preserve the FA- reference and the exact game response for private support.
Understand decisions and recovery
- Approved: claim on the exact character before the deadline.
- Changes requested: submit a complete revision before its deadline.
- Rejected, withdrawn, expired, or cancelled: the record stays closed and the ordinary 14-day wait begins.
- Quarantined or unavailable: do not retry around the refusal. Give the
FA-reference to Management through a private support route. - Notification missing: private status remains authoritative even when a DM or review-channel message fails.
- Membership missing after a reported claim: reconnect once and recheck. If it remains absent, stop and request private support rather than seeking an invitation.
After joining, continue to Joining and managing a faction and Organization duty, uniforms, and equipment.
