A corrections sentence begins through the arrest process and is attached to the sentenced character. Serving and release are verified; this guide remains a draft because the arrest process that starts a sentence is still being verified under concurrent action and reconnection.

Understand prison intake

On successful intake, the character is moved into prison, transport restraint is cleared, engine-held weapons are removed while their item custody is retained, and remaining sentence time is displayed.

There is no separate inmate intake command. If arrest does not establish a sentence or prison placement, preserve the visible law and sentence state instead of trying unrelated movement commands.

Check and serve time

Use /ptime for the authoritative current sentence balance. Time advances while connected on the sentenced character.

Disconnecting or switching characters pauses an active sentence before completion. Returning to that character should restore the sentence and prison placement. A sentence that completed while you were away is restored as awaiting release, so the prison placement stays until you use /releaseme. If location, restrictions, and /ptime disagree, stop and request support.

Understand prison restrictions

Current verified restrictions include:

  • carried mobile phones cannot be used;
  • engine-held weapons are removed during intake; and
  • several economy or activity systems independently refuse incarcerated characters.

This draft does not claim a universal block on every command, chat channel, offer, storage action, or world boundary. Follow the current refusal from each owning system.

Leave after completion

The intended flow is:

  1. Wait for the sentence display to reach completion.
  2. Use /releaseme once.
  3. Wait for the final release result.
  4. On success, confirm normal world placement and weapon-item attachment.

A completed timer leaves the sentence awaiting release, including across a reconnect, until /releaseme is used.

Recover from a refusal

  • Time remains: continue serving on the sentenced character and check /ptime later.
  • Time is complete but release is refused: do not repeatedly submit /releaseme; preserve the result and request player support.
  • Reconnect after completion leaves inconsistent state: do not treat that as completed release. Preserve the position and /ptime result before taking unrelated actions.
  • A weapon or item appears inconsistent after release: avoid repeated custody actions and report the discrepancy.
  • The command reports an unclear result: check the character’s location and /ptime once before seeking help.

Sentence limits, countdown internals, prison administration, and operational corrections tools are intentionally omitted.
