The in-game business directory separates businesses for sale from businesses whose members have chosen to publish that they are open or hiring. This guide remains a draft until the directory’s supported-client and two-client walkthrough is complete.
Browse the directory
Use /businesses from any location and choose one of these views:
- For sale reflects current market businesses automatically.
- Open now shows eligible member-published businesses that are currently open and staffed at their premises.
- Hiring now shows eligible member-published businesses with an authorized recruiter currently at the premises.
Choose broad location and business-type filters. The sale view can limit the maximum market price. Open businesses can be filtered by a broad stock label without revealing exact stock; a business whose availability cannot be read is labelled unknown and is left out of a specific stock filter.
A broad search retains the best bounded set of matches and pages through them. If the result says more businesses matched than it kept, narrow the filters; there is no way to page past the retained set.
Inspect and mark a result
Select a current result to review its public facts and route status. The directory does not reveal an owner, employee, recruiter, exact staffing count, contact number, exact stock, or till information.
Choose Mark route to set a business-directory marker. A direct business marks its exterior premises. A business nested inside another building marks the reachable containing entrance and says that the business is inside. An exterior-only business marks its interaction anchor and does not promise an /enter destination.
If another feature owns your current marker, the directory preserves it and reports the conflict. Use /businesses off to clear only a marker created by this directory.
A directory row does not reserve a purchase, guarantee continued staffing, or bypass ordinary door and business checks. Travel to the premises and use the owning business action there.
Publish an open business
At the exact owned business premises, a member whose rank can manage the business open state can enable the Open now publication through /bizlisting.
The publication becomes visible only while the business is open, publicly routeable, and an active member is actually at its premises. It hides when those conditions stop being true and can reappear when they return. Hidden time does not consume the publication’s remaining eligible time.
Renewing an enabled publication resets it to the full eligible duration rather than adding more time. Disabling Open now does not close the business and does not change Hiring now.
Publish a hiring business
At the exact premises, a member whose rank can invite employees can enable Hiring now. The listing remains separate from Open now.
While the business is open, an eligible recruiter may staff the listing from inside or at the exterior premises. While it is closed, the recruiter must be outside at the reachable premises so an applicant can meet them; the directory labels that access as closed.
The directory does not submit an employment application or reserve an interview. Meet at the premises and use the business’s ordinary invitation flow when both characters are ready.
Recover from changes or refusals
- The directory is unavailable: wait and retry. It does not present a partial catalogue as complete.
- A result changed: reopen the current view. Purchase, sale, closing, staff movement, rank changes, expiry, or route changes can invalidate an old row.
- No route is available: do not follow copied coordinates or attempt to mark an interior point. Choose another result or report broken world content through the normal support route.
- Publication is refused: confirm that you are at the exact business, still belong to it, and hold the permission required for that publication mode.
- Open now remains hidden: confirm the business itself is open and that an active member is at the premises.
- Hiring now remains hidden: confirm an authorized recruiter is present; if the business is closed, that recruiter must wait outside.
- A marker conflict is reported: clear or finish the other feature’s marker first. The directory has not replaced it.
- A sale or deletion completes: earlier publications are cleared and cannot pass to a later owner.
