Photography creates a unique persistent textual scene record rather than a client screenshot. This guide remains a draft while camera acquisition, two-client scene rendering, mask presentation, custody movement, and restart behavior await verification.
Carry a camera
Obtain a camera from the current catalogue of an eligible open store and confirm it in /inventory. The camera needs to be carried, not specially equipped.
Taking a photograph also needs room for the new unique item and a conscious, unrestrained, on-foot character in a supported world or interior.
Take a photograph
Use /photo once at the intended scene. A successful capture creates a photograph item that freezes the current location, UTC capture time, mask-aware display names of included characters, and seated vehicle-model notes. It does not record clothing or a visual screenshot. Empty scenery photographs are valid.
Capture has no subject acceptance prompt. The mechanic does not itself grant permission to force another character’s pose, identity, or roleplay reaction.
Exact visibility geometry and limits are intentionally omitted while client verification remains incomplete.
View the frozen record
Use the view action under /photo for a photograph in current custody. The historical textual presentation does not change when recorded characters later move, mask or unmask, enter another vehicle, or disconnect.
There is no photograph-specific caption, copy, show, or market command in the current scope.
Share the original
Use /give for an offer-confirmed transfer. After accepting, the recipient can view the same original. /drop and /pickup support a persistent world handoff.
Anyone who gains custody can view the frozen record. A photograph is therefore not private after it leaves the original holder.
Recover from failure
- Capture is refused: confirm the camera is carried, make inventory room, get on foot, and correct the reported character or world state.
- No item appears: verify the final capture message and inventory before taking another photograph.
- A scene presentation looks wrong: retain the photograph and visible participants for the two-client verification report rather than recreating it repeatedly.
- Transfer is unclear: check both inventories and any labelled world drop before another custody action.
- Restart or reconnect appears to lose it: reopen inventory first; if still absent, preserve the approximate capture time and custody history for support.
Photographs are scene media, not automatic forensic proof. Evidence procedure and authoritative identity resolution belong to separate role-specific systems.
